So many of you guys do not know but I have struggled with acne my teen years and beyond. It’s been a huge insecurity of mine. I am about to bare it all to you guys and tell you all about my skincare issues and what has worked for me.

Here’s a little history:

When I was 13-18 Years old I was dealing with acne on my face. It was all over my forehead. I use to wear side swept bangs so I could hide it; which did not help at all because of the oils in my hair was just causing more inflammation.

I was finally able to get it under control when I discovered organic sugar and organic lemon. I would use this religiously, it was my holy grail. I would take all my make up off with a makeup wipe and in the shower I would use this remedy as my face wash. It worked wonders for me. Occasionally I still come back to this concoction if my skin starts acting up.

F A C T S about lemon and sugar:

  • Lemons are antibacterial, that is why they can help treat acne.

  • Lemons are rich in vitamin C and citric acid so they help make your skin brighter and lighter.

  • Sugar is a better exfoliator than salt scrubs because the grains are so much smaller and do not strip your skin of the natural oils.

*I would just slice lemons up and place them in a container in the fridge so that before ever shower I can just grab a slice and sprinkle sugar on it.

I always used organic lemons and organic sugar- regular sugar is not a fine as organic sugar so I recommend sticking to all organic if you try this out.

Another problem I have always dealt with is eczema. I’ve had eczema since I can remember. I was pretty blessed that I only had it on my forearms. Around 16 years old it magically disappeared. I have no idea what made it stop showing up. When I researched about it some articles stated that some people just grow out of it.. so that’s what I ran with because I wasn’t gonna dwell any longer on it since I was thrilled it went away! Unfortunately around my 20’s it came back, on my forearms and my lips. I notice it comes when the weather changes too much, and since I live in Houston the weather will go from 60 degrees one day to 90 the next or if I am traveling and the climates/ humidity is different.

I found that this cream has really helped me:

Fast forward to today. The past 4 months I have been dealing with break outs on my check area and extremely dry flaky skin around my forehead, eyebrow area, and chin. I spent tons of money on facials, skin care, and new make up.. nothing was working. It got to the point where it was so bad that I hated going out in public, and it emotionally and mentally effected me. It’s true what they say, “if you look good, you feel good.”

I recently tried out chanel’s skincare products and the one product I must say made all the difference to me was:

This sleep mask completely cleared up my issues with the dry flakes.

The consultant actually gave me 2 samples of it and it lasted me about 4 days, and within those 4 days it made all the difference.

I ended up buying a bottle just because I will be taking this when I travel and most likely will be utilizing it a lot, but to start I’d recommend that you just try out the samples first before committing to buying the full size.

*These products are also pretty generous in size.

Other Chanel products in my skincare routine:

This foaming cleanser is pretty awesome. I use less than a dime size to wash my face and neck with this. This bottle will go along way.

I use this toner only when I get out of the shower. I just use a cotton ball and apply it all over my face and neck.

I apply this after my toner at night and in the mornings. It goes well under makeup and keeps my skin very hydrated.

It’s been a month since I have been using these products in my skincare routine, and my skin has been clear and smooth so far. I will update in another month to let you guys know if it’s still working for my skin.

I have also been using this Supracor Spacell Stimulite facial cleansing sponge to wash my face at night. It takes off traces of my makeup and so far I have been loving it. It’s been helping me prevent build up on my face that clogs my pores. The colored side is for more of an exfoliation and the clear side is more gentle.

I switched up my makeup products too, let me know if you guys want to see a review of everything that’s in my makeup bag.

Also, if you try any of these products let me know how it works out for you!
